Soil Health
What is Soil Health?
Soil Health is nothing more than a series of practices by farmers who want to preserve the organic matter and topsoil on their land. Practices such as conservation tillage, use of cover crops and taking advantage of nutrient cycling from legumes such as vetch and clovers are all examples of soil health on the ground. Farmers across the country are making these changes in farming practices to preserve the natural microbial action in their soil and increase organic matter, all of which leads to more sustainability of farming in the future.
