Heavy Equipment
The Shavano Conservation District owns a bull dozer and John Deere scraper and employs a heavy equipment operator to run them both. These services are available to landowners who need land leveling done on their property in preparation for installing conservation practices such as concrete ditches, pond building, etc. These services are offered at a reduced rate to assist the agricultural producer in his conservation efforts. Newsletter
The Shavano Conservation District publishes a quarterly newsletter which is distributed to over 2,000 cooperators within and outside the District. Cost-Share Assistance
The Shavano Conservation District has cost-share programs available to assist in the installation of conservation practices.
Education
The Shavano Conservation District has educational information available for schools, groups and individuals.
Conservation education workshops and presentations are also available. The district helps with many education projects and has scholarships available for youth and teacher’s for some of the conservation education programs.
