Shavano Board of Supervisors
The Shavano Conservation District is comprised of a 9 member volunteer board of supervisors elected by the public. Term limits are not applicable. The individuals who serve on this board have a genuine concern for agriculture and its preservation. Each member brings a little different perspective and knowledge to the board and each attends many different types of meetings throughout the year in addition to the regular monthly board meetings. The monthly time commitment is approximately 6 hours a month.
The primary goal of the District is to maintain the best agricultural land for future generations. Local residents who own land within the District and are interested in serving on the board should contact the District office or attend a monthly board meeting. No experience is necessary to join; just a desire to help conserve our natural resources.
Monthly Board Meetings
The Shavano Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Montrose USDA Office 102 Par Place.
